2021 Cannes Yachting Festival is back and bigger than ever
Updated: Sep 2, 2021
Europe's 1st boat show of the nautical season will take place this year, from 7 to 12 September with new exhibits, more boats, and new innovation areas.
The Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the biggest boat shows in Europe and after the abrupt and devasting last-minute cancellation of last year's festival, this year the YFC is back in Cannes and they are going all-out! New areas, new exhibitors, more boats and more everything between land and sea. Covering from the Old Port in the Suquet to the new Port Canto at the start of the Croisette, the festival will feature hundreds of monohull and multihull yachts, more than 80 exhibitors and key figures in the sailing world such as Isabelle Autissier and Armel Le Cléac'h, the very inspiration of the Yachting Festival.
The first boat show of the nautical season has a few surprises in store this year. This year's edition is set to revamp the festival with new areas and new novelties.
Vieux Port - Motorboats
One of the oldest ports in the French RIviera, this expanse of moorings right in the centre of Cannes will house 450 prestigious motorboats from 3 to 45 m in length. Visitors can stroll through the aisles to see the wide range of different boat styles.
Also new this year, the Luxury Gallery is set up inside the Palais des Festivals, filled with luxury home goods, fine artisan crafts, watchmaking, jewellery, spirits, fashion and accessories, and more. Visit Maison Fred, Missoni Home, Roche Bobois, Galerie B Edition, Grande Forge, HENRYOT & CIE 1867 and more.
Port Canto - Sailboats
Down the Croisette to the city's new port, and the new Harry's Bar from Paris, visitors can view 108 new sailboats from 10 to 35 m, both mono and multi-hull. This year welcomes a new space for innovation, highlighting and promoting Smart start-ups in the nautical sector who are pushing boundaries, disrupting the norms and smashing it with innovation. Next to the Innovation Space, is the Parcours Green, promoting eco-sustainable technologies and solutions for cleaner boating.
Port Canto is also where you will find a large selection of previously owned yachts (22m min) and an onsite broker.
Don't miss the toys area here, as well!
The YFC Regatta is 4-round event over 2 days which will separate 5 teams of small racing catamarans. The Cannes Yachting Festival team has also developed a number of refurbishments to ensure an even more enjoyable experience for visitors by emphasizing their comfort and increasing the visibility of the different boats. Among these refurbishments is the newly renovated Quai Max Laubeuf with its new marina dedicated to motor multihulls.
And of course, the fashion show of the Concours d'Elegance, an exceptional show that brings together many vintage and modern boats of less than 12 metres for a unique parade of old-world style. This tradition is a reflection of the Yachting Festival, which seeks to remain true to the roots of old glamour and elegant boats, celebrating the historical richness of yachting in the heart of the Côte d'Azur. The Concours d'Elegance will be held on Saturday 11 September at 4 pm at the Plage du Festival.
The Festival runs from 7 to 12 September.
