Races, regattas, yacht shows, and festivals! The French Riviera is the playground for beautiful yachts and as August comes to an end, we are sailing into boating season!

7 – 12 Sept – Cannes Yachting Festival
Filling the old port and Port Canto in Cannes, the festival is an eclectic range of boats from 10 to 45m afloat and under 10m on land. From sailing to motor, monohull or multihull, hard or semi-rigid hull, you can visit over 600 boats from the biggest names in the nautical industry. 8 – 12 Sept – 15th Monaco Classic Week
Known as ‘La Belle Classe’ this biennial boat meeting features some of the oldest and most elegant boats ever made. Echoing the first motorboat meetings in 1904, it is the only event to bring together traditional sailing boats, vintage motor yachts and old motorboats. www.monacoclassicweek.com
11 – 12 Sept – 1st SailGP St Tropez
The SailGP Global Championship has added St Tropez as a stop before the first-ever Spanish Grand Prix in Cadiz. With cutting-edge F50 wingsailed catamarans, the international competitors race at almost 100km/h (~52 knots) for a €1 million prize. www.sailgp.com
15 – 19 Sept – 26th Les Voiles d’Antibes
Each year, some of the most beautiful Vintage Yachts (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (< 1976) and Spirit of Tradition Yachts, plus the Metric Classes competing in the America's Cup from 1958 to 1987 sail to the small port city of Antibes. www.voilesdantibes.com

19 – 25 Sept –
43rd Régates Royales
The world's leading annual classic sailing event, the Cannes Royal Regattas is the ultimate Panerai Trophy competition. Bringing together the world's oldest and most beautiful sail boats still in working condition, the number of boats and wide range of categories make this event on the Côte d’Azur an extraordinary celebration of the sea and its adventurers. www.regatesroyales.com

22- 25 Sept – 30th Monaco Yacht Show
The only yacht show in the world exclusively devoted to the sale of superyachts (at least 25m), the MYS is the biggest floating luxury yacht display in Europe. Inside the top luxury interior manufacturers exhibit, along with the mind-blowing ‘toys and tender’ area of super-charged cars and other high-speed toys. www.monacoyachtshow.com
25 Sept to 9 Oct – Les Voiles de St Tropez
The mix of classic yachts with ultra-modern boats is the main characteristic of Les Voiles and its true "trademark". The festival features numerous events on land, all open to the public, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere across the city. www.lesvoilesdesaint-tropez.fr
