From today, Tuesday 11 May 2021, all over-18s residing in France can book a COVID-19 vaccination, regardless of their health conditions. To book, individuals must go through online medical booking service Doctolib at doctolib.fr/vaccination-covid-19/ and select the option for 'general public over-18s, non-priority': "Personnes de plus de 18 ans pour les rendez-vous disponibles d'ici demain soir (Public non prioritaire)".

President Emmanuel Macron announced the new plans last week, the idea being that over-18s will take spare doses and unused appointment slots left over from priority groups. Vaccination appointments were previously only available to those over a certain age or with underlying health conditions, but the updated programme now means that all adults residing in France are eligible for the vaccine.

Numerous vaccination centres are operating in cities and towns across the Côte d'Azur, including the Palais des Expositions in Nice. All available locations can be viewed on a map on the Doctolib site, along with directions using public transport.

Around 18 million doses have been administered in France since the vaccination programme began in December 2020, and the French government is hoping to hit its target of 20 million first doses by this Saturday, 15 May. This new development in the return to normality also comes a week before the permitted reopening of restaurant, café and bar terraces next Wednesday, 19 May.
