Artcurial returns to Monaco for exclusive 2021 auctions

Artcurial is back in Monaco for some Haute auctions, ranging from exclusive bags, watches and jewellery to contemporary sculptures.

Artcurial Monaco 2021

For almost twenty years Artcurial has been coming to Monaco in July for its summer auctions, headquartered at the hotel Hermitage from 17 to 22 July.

Artcurial offers a week during which public exhibitions and prestigious sales of Haute Jewellery, Collector's Watches, and Hermes & Luxury Bags will take place. Elegant and unusual items with rare, selected lots.

This year, they are once again inviting sculpture lovers to join in! Following the massive success of the first Monaco Sculptures auction in 2019, Artcurial is launching the second edition and is offering an original 'art walk' through the Principality to meet the greatest names in 20th and 21st-century sculpture.

Artists such as Bernar Venet, Tony Cragg, Cesar, Philippe Hiquily, Niki de Saint Phalle, Robert Combas, Pablo Reinoso, Di Teana, Balthasar Lobo, Arman, Wim Delvoye .... Artcurial offers a journey through the gardens of the Principality and the spaces of the Hotel de Paris, the Hermitage and the Monte-Carlo Beach Club.

As a cultural event accessible to all, visitors are invited to a unique experience in Europe: to discover a wide panorama of sculptural creation during an artistic walk in a dreamlike setting! The tour will take you from the salons of the Hotel de Paris and the Hermitage, through the parks of Petite Afrique and Spelugues to the mythical Monte-Carlo Beach Club, facing the sea. The parks and palaces provide an intimate and grandiose experience. Artcurial's offices in Monaco, located at 9, Bd des Moulins, will host a rare and historic compression by Cesar and an important sculpture by Lynn Chadwick.

The sculptures have been on display throughout the Principality since mid-April, but this weekend the auctions start on 17 July.

More than 400 lots bring together the greatest names in jewellery: Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Fouquet, Marina B. David Webb, Sterle, Buccellati, but also signatures that are rarer in public sales but just as emblematic, such as Kutchinsky, Gilbert Albert, Verdura or Fouquet.

Some very exceptional stones are up for grabs during the three auctions: an extraordinary Burmese sapphire weighing 58.53 cts on a ring (unique piece) signed Chanel, the largest sapphire that Chanel has ever mounted on a ring; white, yellow and pink diamonds of all shapes and sizes, including a pear-cut diamond of 20.14 cts; and a diamond of the highest quality.

A 20.14 ct pear-cut diamond by Cartier and a unique set of emeralds ranging from 3 to over 70 cts. Emeralds are back in force this year; an investment not to be missed! During these jewellery sales, Artcurial will be offering around thirty lots from the Repossi house. This

This collaboration allows the history of this unique brand to be retraced with pieces from their heritage.

Swiss watchmaking will be in the spotlight! Rolex, with a selection of more than 40 vintage and modern timepieces, a set of 8 Rolex from a private collection, including a Daytona ref. 6264.... THE most popular reference for collectors. The independent watchmakers, for whom the craze is only growing, will also be present: F.P Journe with a Chronomètre Souverain in yellow gold or an astonishing mechanical robot designed by the outsider MB&F in collaboration with the French company L'Épée. This "Sherman" is a limited edition of 200 pieces...

The 8th Opus of "Temps est Féminin" has some very nice surprises from Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Audemars Piguet and, of course, Cartier, whose price tag has only just begun to rise for antique and vintage pieces... a refined set of high-quality collector's pieces.

The summer session of the Hermès & Luxury Bags sale will be colourful and will unveil several limited editions. The iconic Hermès trio - Birkin, Kelly and Constance - will be presented in a range of materials, with lizard taking pride of place. An exceptional Birkin 30 So Black in matt black alligator will be offered for sale (estimate €38,000/48,000). This limited edition from 2010 comes from the famous So Black collection created under the artistic direction of Jean Paul Gaultier.
