Cinema de la plage: Cannes Film Festival's beach screenings
The Cannes Film Festival starts 6 July - with beach cinema! For a rare summertime schedule, it's best to enjoy it this year!
One of the most glamorous events of the year starts in a few days – two months later than usual. This year, the Festival de Cannes gets a rare chance to enjoy the summer weather and there is no better way to take advantage of this than the Cinema de la Plage, the festival's beach cinema.
Imagine watching some of the greatest films ever made, in the cool evening air, reclined in official Palm d'Or lounge chairs and your toes in the sand. Can it get better than that? How about having the film introduced by the director himself? It's an incredible opportunity--and it's free! But you can't reserve tickets, you just have to show up... and you'll never know you will wind up sitting next to...
Each evening from July 6th to 17th, there will be a screening on the Plage Macé just beside the Palais des Festivals. The film starts each evening at 9.30 p.m. but make sure to get there earlier to score a chair! If you miss out, you can always try to find a spot on the beach nearby.
All films will be screened in original langauage with French and/or English subtitles.
