Cucina Victoria: a touch of dolce vita in Cagnes-sur-Mer
The Italian restaurant in the new boutique Hotel Indigo in Cagnes-sur-Mer delights gourmets and entertains lovers of live music.
"Cucina Victoria", which opened a few weeks ago, has plenty of visual attractions... from the tasteful decoration in blue tones and the comfortable benches to the accents with natural materials. Between the open kitchen and the cosy cocktail bar, there is room for 130 diners.
More important, of course, is what chef Alexis Chaillou conjures up on the plates: bistro cuisine with an Italian touch. The kitchen relies mainly on local seasonal produce and the talented chef puts his own signature on Italian classics. The menu includes specialities such as vitello tonnato with capers, anchovies and slivers of pecorino; Angus beef tagliata with candied onions, rocket and fried gnocchi; creamy carnaroli risotto, and fritto misto of gamberoni and squid with garden vegetables.
For dessert, it stays Italian: special mentions go to the panna cotta with lime, citrus and verbena minestrone and café tiramisu.
In the evening, only à la carte with main courses between 20 and 30 euros. Lunch menus for 23 and 27 euros.
