Half Ekiden in Villeneuve-Loubet, a first in the department!
The ekiden is an original race from Japan that could be translated as a marathon relay.
This event consists of a succession of road relays in teams of 6 relays. The sum of the various distances to be covered by all the candidates of a team must be equal to that of the marathon, that is 42.195 km. The six runners must successively cover the following distances: 5 km, 10 km, 5 km and to finish 7,195 km. They transmit a lighter witness than the relay 4 100 m, so as not to hinder the rider. The traditional witness is a fabric sling called tasuki.

IN VILLENEUVE-LOUBET, THIS IS NOT AN EDIKEN but a semi-ekiden that is scheduled for Thursday, June 9 at 8 pm. A new race not to be missed, with a distance of 21.1km per team of 3 relay riders who run successively 5 km, 10 km and 6.1km along a 100% seaside course in a very friendly atmosphere!
Thanks to short distances, come to run with family, friends, laid off, or colleagues!
