Nice's Hotel Beau Rivage Launches Summer Wellness Programme

The patio of Nice’s Hotel Beau Rivage will transform into a hub of relaxation this summer with yoga and Pilates followed by a healthy breakfast.

The 4-star Hotel Beau Rivage in Nice occupies an ideal spot, nestled in between the busy pebble beach and the edge of the lively old town, but this smart and polished 19th-century establishment will be offering a quieter space to guests this summer as it begins its gourmet health and wellbeing programme. The hotel has an age-old tradition of providing respite to eminent artists and intellectuals, with Henri Matisse, Friedrich Nietzsche and Anton Chekhov all having paid visits to the Beau Rivage for a mental detox on the Côte d’Azur. Now, the hotel is offering the same opportunity to escape from the fast pace of modern life on its peaceful 200m² botanical patio.

Launched on 3 June 2021, the new wellness programme, which was developed in conjunction with Cozette, “the concierge of wellbeing”, invites guests and Nice residents to its private terrace for outdoor yoga and Pilates classes each week, rounded off with a well-earned gastronomic reward designed by Marine Calo, health practitioner in Nice. Each Thursday, Pilates instructor Aniela will get your muscles stretching, while you can practise yoga on Saturdays with Hatha Yoga teacher Karène Liautaud. To get your day off to a healthy start, both sessions will take place in the morning, followed by a nutritious communal breakfast.

From a young age, we’re told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day – the concept at the Beau Rivage summer health programme is no different. In order to nourish your body after sleep, they recommend a hearty breakfast: those offered as part of the programme are based on alimentary chronobiology and have been meticulously prepared to benefit both body and mind. Hummus, avocado, cherry tomatoes, yoghurt, bananas and seasonal fruit are some of the foods served post-exercise in the cool shade of the patio. The hotel is also extending its wellness programme over the summer to those who aren’t participating in the morning classes: business guests using one of the Beau Rivage’s four seminar rooms may also choose to replace their traditional coffee break with a specially-tailored ‘wellbeing’ option.
