October Rose: Celebrating the pink ribbon across the French Riviera
The month of October is dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, the leading cause of death for women. Here are local specials for raising money...
First, we start with the high-tech centre for breast health in Nice, the Institute du sein
Nice Santa Maria. They offer the innovative ONE DAY BREAST CARE® programme which includes the 3 basic steps of care from diagnosis to breast reconstruction:
One Day Breast Diagnosis®: your diagnosis in one day.
One Day Breast Surgery®: your outpatient breast surgery, whenever possible.
One Day Breast Reconstruction®: your minimally invasive reconstruction in one day, with no additional scarring, pain, or functional effects.
In France, mammographies are recomended every two years from the age of 40 and the screening services offered at this clinic are included in the state health system. For more information, visit the website: http://institutdusein-nice.com/ or call directly at: +33 04 92 03 02 01.

Stay for a good cause at 3A Hotels La Collection
For the 3rd consecutive year, the 3A Hotels La Collection group has renewed its commitment to the Pink October campaign. The hotels in Nice are inviting their guests to join them in the fight against breast cancer and to support research with the Pink Ribbon association. Since 1994, this annual campaign aims to highlight those who fight this disease, to raise awareness, inform and raise funds to help researchers and caregivers.
The West End Hotel, the Aston La Scala Hotel and the Beau Rivage Hotel & Beach offer all travelers the opportunity to participate in this great cause by proposing the option to select the "Pink October" with a supplement of 5€ for any stay between October 1 and 31, 2021*.
They will then be entitled to a VIP welcome in their room with decoration and delicacies on arrival. The group is committed to donating 25% of the total amount of each reservation to the association Ruban Rose.
And to take their commitment even further, the restaurants of the establishments have also designed desserts in the colors of the campaign. On the menu: a homemade red fruit charlotte at Plage Beau Rivage, a cherry chou on the rooftop of the Aston La Scala Hotel and a rose tiramisu to be enjoyed facing the sea in the Siècle restaurant of the West End Hotel. 50% of the amount of each dessert sold will also be added to the global kitty that will be given at the end of the month.
* Offer valid for all reservations made on the hotels' official websites or directly by phone by contacting the reservation center.
Sail to get away in Marseille!
The City of Marseille is a partner of the Pink October operation, initiated by SOS Breast Cancer and is organising a solidarity regatta on Saturday, 9 October and it is not necessary to know how to sail.
Have you had breast cancer? A gynaecological cancer?
Are you undergoing treatment? Reconstructing? In remission?
Do you want to get away? Forget about your illness for a day? Live an extraordinary sporting and convivial experience?
Come and take part in the "pink" regatta on Saturday 9 October, alone or with a friend. The sailors of the Cercle Nautique et Touristique du Lacydon CNTL invite you on board to discover the pleasures of sailing and a regatta and offer you an exceptional day.
Are you treating women with breast cancer? Gynecological cancer?
Do you diagnose these cancers, do research, are you professionally involved with these diseases?
This regatta is also for you!
You can form a caregiver-crew and represent your organization.
If you wish to put your institution's colours on a boat, please make a request separately from the registration form.
The regatta is free of charge, but participation and/or membership are welcome to help the association carry out its support and awareness-raising activities.
A medical certificate of less than one year of no contraindication to the practice of sailing in competition must be attached to your registration to obtain the daily sailing licence offered by the FFV and mandatory for the regatta. The health pass will be requested at the entrance of the site.
