The Outdoor Festival 06, the 1st experiential nature sport event of the French Riviera
The heart of the Maritime Alps will beat harder than ever before at the pace of nature sports. The department of the Maritime Alps offers, for the first time, a unique and original nature sports experience throughout the "Maralpin" territory.

A rich territory with 80 km of coastline open to the Mediterranean, with peaks reaching over 3,000 m and a perfect climate for sports in all seasons, the Maritime Alps are the ideal playground for outdoor sports. The Outdoor Festival 06 is also an opportunity to combine sports practice and respect for the environment.
A reference for outdoor activities, the Maritime Alps Department is committed to supporting and encouraging the practice of outdoor sports, from its coastline to its highlands.
Competitions such as the "Tour des Alpes-Maritimes et du Var", the Challenge Trail Nature 06, the "Transvésubienne" (MTB) and the "Alpes-Maritimes Marathon" receive financial support from the Department. They are emblematic events welcoming many amateur or seasoned sportsmen.
The Alpes-Maritimes Department also provides financial assistance for infrastructures that promote the practice of sport on the territory. This includes the Vésubia Mountain Park (the first mountain leisure park in Europe), the Boréon Nordic Centre and the Colmiane Zipline, one of the largest in Europe.
The Outdoor Festival 06 offers a dense, rich and varied program that will reveal the multitude of facets offered by the "Maralpin" territory.
Entirely free and open to all audiences regardless of age and level of practice (accomplished athletes, families, active seniors, visitors...), this festival will allow people to discover and practice sports for 3 days outdoors, on earth, at sea or in the air. A rich and varied program with more than 60 activities will be offered, available in 300 formats. An exceptional mobilization of municipalities, associations, clubs, volunteers and athletes is underway to welcome the expected 150,000 participants.
Participants at the Outdoor Festival 06 event will enjoy:
- activities based on experience rather than performance and proposed for all levels of practice: children, family, well-being, discovery, intense and extreme (“Outdoor Experience”). For example, the public will be able to take part in a kayaking tour at sunset, a 2-day cross-border ski mountaineering tour on stage 5 of the "Grande Traversée du Mercantour" with Germain Grangier, a canyoning tour in the Gorges du Loup…
- Cultural events that celebrate the richness of our heritage related to nature sports (“Outdoor Event”): screenings, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, shows, etc. - national and international competitions to highlight and encourage all athletes during the duration of the Festival.,(«Outdoor Competition»),
- the Festival village will be in Cannes (Bijou-plage / Verdun Square), a place of exchange, conviviality and sharing: product tests, animations, conferences, outdoor screenings and 50 exhibitors (Outdoor Camp). True to the spirit of the GREEN Deal for the ecological transition of the Alpes-Maritimes, the Departmental Council wished to place this unique festival under the aegis of sustainable development.
Already, this sporting event has managed to mobilize 42 high-level athletes. Ambassadors of the Outdoor Festival 06, such as Alain Bernard (swimming), Stéphane Diagana (athletics), Alexia Barrier (skipper), Guillaume Néry (freediving), Maxime Montaggioni (snowboarding), etc. or Germain Grangier (trail), will be able to share, advise and exchange with the public for several days.
